Attention Tucson Residents!!!
Join the Toys for Tots ride, a fantastic event promising to be both fun-filled and charitable, this Saturday, December 5th in Tucson. Bicyclists of all ages will participate in a toy collection and bike ride. Riders must bring at least one new toy to donate to Toys for Tots, construct a way to keep the toys aboard themselves or their bike during the ride and if motivated to do so, arrive with their bicycles decorated for the holidays. Members of GABA (Greater Arizona Bicycling Associate) have organized this event. Two rides will be held, one for more advanced cyclists will begin at Udall Park at 8:30 with a round trip route of 30-35 miles; and another more family oriented ride will begin at McCormick Park at 9:30 for a 10 mile round trip ride. Both rides will end at the Reid Park Zoo, where participants donate their toys to the big red box, and receive FREE admission into the zoo
Riders in both groups will be committed to staying together and arriving at the zoo together. Typically two groups will form in each ride, with riders often regrouping to find the pace that feels most comfortable. No one is left behind! Consider hitching your tandem, kids bicycle trailer, or child’s bike seat to your bicycle and join in the fun. If your child is catching a ride on, or attached to, your bike, remember to include a toy donation from each of you. Pre-registration is not required, just show up early enough to sign in and get your family and your bicycle ready for the ride.
